    Concordia Academy, Havering

    Schools

The 2,972m2 Concordia Academy three-form entry free school was built offsite by The McAvoy Group in The London Borough of Havering. This new state-of-the-art school was required to address the urgent need for additional primary places in the South East of England.

Boomer was appointed by McAvoy to supply more than 200 individual door sets to the project.

    Door Specification

Boomer produced bespoke door sets in a wide variety of different configurations in line with McAvoy’s detailed door schedule. This included single and double leaf doors with the appropriate heavy duty rating, appropriate for the wear and tear encountered in a busy school environment.

Each door set was produced to an individual specification in regards to fire specification, glazing, hardware, closure system etc to meet the specific needs of each location within the school, including classrooms, gym, washrooms and staff areas.

Boomer manufactured precision door sets with a variety of layouts in single and double configurations, with and without vision panels. Each door was specified for heavy duty wear with appropriately robust hardware, kick plates and pre-hung on three hinges per door.

The appropriate mechanical closure mechanisms were fitted in accordance with regulations. As an additional safety feature for an educational environment, finger guards were fitted to the face and reverse of the doors.

The Boomer door set design is ideal for use in offsite build projects where the high-quality pre-finished doors and frames with pre-installed hardware lead to efficiencies in the factory build stages and remove the need for onsite labour.
